Hey everyone. So, I took a bit of a hit playing basketball a few days ago and ended up injuring my finger. Turns out, the diagnosis is Mallet finger. At the ER, they just gave me a temporary Zimmermann splint to hold things in place. I went back to the hospital today to get a proper cast, but now I’m sitting here wondering if it was applied correctly. For the tendon to heal properly, the finger needs to stay as straight as possible, right? Looking at this, the cast feels a little crooked where it's supposed to be stabilizing the joint. I've attached some photos below—I'd love to hear what you guys think.
