There was so much hype surrounding this—I was honestly expecting something totally brutal and out there, mostly because my metalhead friend wouldn't stop raving about how it was already destined to be a cult classic. 🤣 (Guys, it just doesn't work like that.)

The reality is that it isn't quite a trashy flick, a creepy horror, a fun revenge story, or an LSD trip—it's trying to be a little bit of everything at once... kind of like those last two Refn movies, where they just throw everything into the mix and then try to polish the edges until they shine.
But hey, whatever—at least the fonts were meticulously designed. 😁

Best part? Definitely Jeremiah with his song and monologue. I actually watched that scene twice because the vibe was just incredible—total 80s psychedelic cult energy. It’s exactly how it should be. Plus, those Crimson vibes right at the start 🥳

So, I finally sat down and watched it yesterday, and honestly? I’m still kind of processing it. For me, the pacing felt a little sluggish and just a bit too much of the same thing. It’s definitely one of those "love it or hate it" kinds of movies—you either vibe with it or you don't—and I think I ended up somewhere right in the middle. I get that the director was clearly trying to do something unconventional here. The first half is basically a massive explosion of color with hardly any dialogue to speak of; I was personally bracing myself for non-stop madness and high-octane tension throughout the whole runtime, and while that intensity does eventually show up, it wasn't quite hitting the mark for my personal taste. That said, the atmosphere is totally unique—dark, trippy, and super disorienting. N. Cage barely says a word, but once the second half kicks in, you at least get some action, some carnage, and that classic signature brand of insanity he does so well. All in all, give it a watch and see what you think! It's a tough one to pin down, so it really just depends on what you're into.

Too many colors—it’s suffocating—but still not enough to bury the absolute misery of the dialogue and the script in general. Just another cheap, derivative revenge drama wasting everyone's 🙄🙄🙄

I started watching it late last night, but I crashed pretty fast. Did the director just decide to dump a whole bucket of red paint over the entire movie or what?

Visually, it totally grabbed me, but I’ll be honest—it's a hard sell when you look at anything else about it...

Cage is just built for these kinds of roles—there's something about seeing him go totally feral with blood all over his face that just works perfectly.

Just a tedious two-hour revenge flick filled with some pathetic quasi-artistic flourishes—mostly just filler to stretch out the runtime. Some lumberjack's girl gets snatched by a bunch of goth bikers, so naturally, he goes on a rampage. I guess being a "lumberjack" is supposed to imply he has enough muscle to take down a twisted cult... right? Pointless movie.

Absolute masterpiece. Honestly, a total work of art.

It starts off kind of slow, I guess, but once the guy being tormented gets called a vicious snowflake... man, that's when it clicked for me. I realized right then that we were watching one of the most brilliant movies out there right now. 😁

Just watched the Half in The Bag review for this one, and now I'm seriously hyped to check out the movie myself. 👍

It was an alright flick.

My biggest gripe is honestly how he took out those three badass bikers first, and then just moved on to cult members who weren't even that tough, except for the one guy on the bike.

Why on earth did let the younger girl in the cult live, but kill off the old lady? I mean, sure, the grandma was meaner to Mandy, but that younger girl would've done whatever she was told. Plus, there's no way he could've known what they were up to inside while he was tied up. It just doesn't add up.
