Since Mr. Andrelon mentioned in his recent post that we might appeal the permanent ban placed on our esteemed community member Marasovac, I believe it would be appropriate to reach out to the forum moderators:

Perhaps you could send a polite request to the moderators, the super-mods, or even the admin, as they are much more deeply acquainted with the specifics of the situation. They are quite observant and reasonable people, I suppose.

:

Through this message, I would like to kindly ask the administrators and super-moderators to please reconsider the decision regarding Marasovac's ban.
I feel that an individual who has contributed so significantly to this community through their posts—someone who possesses not just deep knowledge, but perhaps more importantly, a genuine willingness to share that expertise with all the members and readers here—really shouldn't be excluded from our space.
Whether or not one happens to agree with his specific worldview, or whether his arguments are contested or embraced, Marasovac is undoubtedly one of our most frequently read contributors. He is respected far beyond these digital walls, and precisely because of his contributions here, he brings in new readers and enthusiasts, which I guess is ultimately the primary goal of any forum.

If it would help facilitate this, I would be willing to take his penalty points upon myself; I simply want to ensure that both current members and newcomers alike can continue to enjoy reading the works and insights of Mr. Marasovac on this platform.

Warm regards!

Marasovac can absolutely petition to have the ban lifted if that’s what they want. They’ve got full access to the Ban Corner, so they can start a thread there whenever they feel ready. We don't just go around lifting bans without someone actually asking for it—otherwise, we'd have no way of knowing if the user even wants to come back.

So, are there specific conditions? And would you actually lift it if he asked?

Look, we’ll take any request into consideration if—and only if—one actually comes our way. It isn't just a snap decision; we'd need to dive deep into their profile, look over any past sanctions, review their entire posting history, and really weigh the context of the conversation that led to the ban in the first place. This isn't something we can just knock out in five minutes; it requires a real amount of effort and attention, which we'll be more than happy to provide whenever the situation calls for it. Right now, though, we have a massive mountain of actual, pressing work on our plates to deal with.

Perhaps it might be worth considering lifting the ban just to see whether or not he decides to start posting again.
He is a human being, much like you or me, and I suppose it is quite understandable from a human perspective that someone might feel a bit too proud to come back and formally ask for their privileges to be restored.
The worst-case scenario here, if he chooses not to engage after the ban is lifted, is simply that his username remains blue instead of grey. Personally, I think both the moderators and the rest of us would find that much more pleasant to see. I guess it’s just easier to give it a shot and see what happens, rather than doing nothing at all.
And I should probably add, thank you so much, rustydrifter10, truly. 🙂

Since so many people seem intent on joining the movement to have me removed (as a protected national minority in the USA), I am hereby establishing a new one-member group and request that his ban remain lifted.
I am well aware that both groups are ultimately futile, but the constant badgering from these right-wingers regarding Marasovac is becoming tedious—especially since they act as if we are discussing an intellectual heavyweight like Raspudić.

Count me in too!!!!

edit:

Morgan Carter, I also happen to be part of a protected national minority, yet even I am firmly in favor of lifting the ban on Marasovc.

Well, it looks like the petitions have been received, and it’s clear there is significant support behind this; thank you all for stepping up. If Marasovac reaches out to Chase Bank with a formal request to lift the ban, I can assure you it will be given serious consideration.
