Mayo Clinic

🙄I received my referral today for a head MRI in Chicago. It was issued by the Mayo Clinic, along with a recommendation that I look elsewhere if I want to avoid a six-month wait... though I suppose two months would be somewhat acceptable

Does anyone happen to have a list of hospitals or clinics where I can get this scan done using my insurance referral—meaning without paying out of pocket—so I can start calling around to see what their current wait times look like?

Maybe give Quest Diagnostics a call. You can actually use an insurance referral there if you need to. Their number is 4594-777, and I guess you could always check out their website too.🙂

You’ll get seen fastest at Quest Diagnostics, but if you've actually got the cash, you can grab an appointment at their San Francisco location in like a month since they just installed a brand-new MRI machine there.
