Megastat - Bristol Myers Squibb..

Does anyone actually know anything about this medication? Someone handed it to me saying it would help kickstart my appetite—I’m perfectly healthy otherwise, I just haven't had any interest in eating lately.
Has anyone here actually used this stuff before?
From what I gather, it’s meant to boost appetite and treat anorexia, or help people who have lost weight due to serious illnesses...
But I'm curious if anyone has ever taken it while being perfectly healthy just to put on some weight or get a bit stronger..
I’ve even heard people whispering about it being used in gym circles..
I’m feeling pretty skeptical about the whole thing, honestly. I want to hear your raw opinions—even though I’ve already spent way too much time reading through every possible side effect imaginable. Does anyone know anything from personal experience, or maybe from things you've seen happen to others? Like, does it actually work, or does it end up doing more harm than good to your system?

Thanks! 😁

My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer five years ago, and he takes Megastat every once in a while. For him, Megastat works wonders for his appetite—he eats like a beast! It helps him get his weight back up. He only takes it when needed, basically whenever he starts losing weight or loses his drive to eat.
Same thing with my brother-in-law; he's battling pancreatic cancer and lost a ton of weight, so he uses Megastat too. He started eating again, and his appetite finally came back..
That's just what I've seen firsthand.
Nobody we know had any side effects.

It really seems to help him get his appetite back—honestly, he eats like he hasn't seen food in weeks! It’s been great for helping him put some weight back on. He just takes it whenever he feels himself starting to drop weight or when he notices his appetite is flagging.
It’s the same thing with my brother-in-law; he’s battling pancreatic cancer and lost a terrifying amount of weight, but since he started taking Megastat, he’s actually eating again and his appetite has returned..

Thank you sooooo much for getting back to me.. that’s exactly how I’m thinking of using it too, just as needed.. I was honestly a little nervous for a second, wondering if it was even safe for anyone to be taking it.
Best wishes, and I'm sending so much hope for your husband and brother-in-law's recovery. 🙂
One more thing though, I was wondering how exactly he doses it? I think I read somewhere—though I can't be totally sure if I got it right—that it's about 300 mg a day? Would that be roughly equivalent to a teaspoon?

Does anyone here know anything about this medication? Someone suggested I try it to help jumpstart my appetite—honestly, I’m perfectly healthy, I just haven't had any interest in eating lately.

I'm feeling a bit skeptical about the whole thing, so I'd love to hear your honest thoughts (even though I've already scrolled through a massive list of potential side effects!). If you have any personal experience or have heard stories from others—did it cause any harm, or does it actually work as advertised?..

Thanks! 😁

Hey there...
I take Megastat every now and then, and so far, I haven't run into any side effects at all...
I seem to handle it quite well, though you really do have to be incredibly careful when using it...

If you want the full scoop on this medication, your best bet is to check out the drug database over at www.fda.gov.
Just a heads-up, though—you can't just pick this up off a shelf. You'll need a specialist to write you a prescription, and it’s strictly dispensed under a doctor's supervision.
