Messaging issues

Hi everyone, I’m a bit of a newcomer here—and I seem to be running into a bit of a snag with my inbox. Specifically, I can't actually view any incoming messages; for some reason, they just won't open, no matter what I try...👎
What seems to be the issue?
If anyone could lend a hand, I’d certainly appreciate it.

Are you browsing on a PC or a mobile device? Also, which browser are you using, and have you actually bothered to clear your cache and temporary internet files yet?

I’ve run into a bit of a snag. I can't see my incoming messages anymore—you know, that little notification right under my username when I log in.
I was just clicking around through the settings, probably messing with things I shouldn't have been, and now I'm totally lost. It's like trying to fix a leaky faucet and accidentally turning off the water to the whole house.
I really miss that classic layout.
Is there a way to get it back? I just want those new message alerts to pop up under my name again when I sign in. Thanks!
