Mic issues

I'm running into some serious issues with my Logitech G502 headset.
The microphone is being completely temperamental—it works one second and then just cuts out the next. I was trying to jump onto Discord to chat, but it’s basically useless right now. To make matters worse, I just realized a few minutes ago that my mic is actually picking up all the audio I'm listening to—it's essentially bleeding the system sound back into the input. I tried to run the Troubleshoot tool, but Windows claims everything is perfectly fine, which is... well, unhelpful.
I am honestly at my wit's end here. I can see the hardware is technically functioning, but I have absolutely no clue how to fix this mess. It is incredibly frustrating 😛

7. I should probably mention—though it’s hardly a flex—that I picked these up back in March of last year, and honestly? I’ve only actually used them once.

Well, if they're actually broken, they should still be under warranty...

First, make sure you actually plugged the mic in right (the red jack). Then, check your sound properties under Recording Devices. Right-click and select "show Disabled Devices." Your mic should pop up there, and it ought to say it's active and ready to go...

I didn't quite catch that last part, could you clarify...?

I have both "show Disabled Devices" and "show Disconnected Devices" checked.

I've been scouring YouTube tutorials regarding microphones. I went into Recording Devices and noticed those little green bars jumping up and down while I was watching a video. I'm honestly not sure if that's supposed to happen or if it means something else...

That’s about it. Just double-check that your volume isn't set to zero in the Sound properties. Also, make sure they're actually plugged in correctly. If neither of those fixes it, you might just have to take them back for a replacement.

Crank that recording volume all the way up and turn on mic boost. Also, unplug your speakers if you're using them. 🤷

I’ve got a question too (trying not to start a whole new thread here): so, I’m on my Dell laptop and it only has one jack on the side. When I plug in my mic, the audio goes straight through the microphone... Basically, I tried recording something and it works fine, but the real headache is how to record while still being able to hear music through the laptop speakers instead of hearing it inside the mic itself. Like, I want to play some music or karaoke from YouTube and record my voice, but actually hear the music through the speakers while I do it.

It’s honestly so frustrating. I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun and nothing works... if anyone can help me out, I would be seriously grateful! 🙏

So, the headphones finally arrived, but now I’m dealing with a whole new set of headaches.
Every time I stop talking, there’s this annoying "beep-beep-beep" sound that lingers for a few seconds—it’s loud enough to be genuinely distracting. On top of that, I can’t hear any voices at all—whether it's in games, on YouTube, or pretty much anywhere else... though the music plays perfectly fine.
Can anyone help me out here?
