Finally got around to watching Wrestler a couple of days ago! Everyone keeps talking about how this was supposed to be Rourke's big massive comeback to the big screen... and honestly? I loved it! Just totally blew me away... I really think Rourke is one of the absolute best actors working in Hollywood right now, even if he’s been all over the news lately... you know, mostly just for the plastic surgery stuff and those crazy stories from directors saying they dread working with him because he's such a wild card... totally unpredictable... but man, the talent is still there! 🤣
So, what's your take on his whole body of work? And honestly... you hear all those crazy rumors swirling around about him too? I mean, there's always something, right?!...

Good looking as hell, even if he's a total wreck.

Mickey is a total legend, I am seriously counting down the days until The Expendables and Iron Man 2 drop. 😁

Look, the movie isn't half bad, but man, he is just... ugly. Like, unnervingly plastic, if you know what I mean. Just super fake looking.😁 😁 ,
Me and Marisa Tomei? We looked like Beauty and the Beast together.

In a way, he’s been a defining force in my life; he was my idol back before he even touched the radar of mainstream popularity... and honestly, that hasn't changed. He's one of a kind, a singular phenomenon. And look, if people want to fixate on how much he’s let himself go, that’s just his business. He earned his spot in the legends long ago, and he’ll stay there, standing tall alongside figures like Henry Kissinger, regardless of whether anyone likes it or not. Too extraordinary to live, too rare to die... that’s Mickey Rourke.

I have absolutely no clue what kind of life experiences he’s endured to end up looking this weathered, but I truly hope to God I don't look nearly this rough when I reach his age.😉

I love her 😍 Even more because of everything she’s been through, what you did to her, how you admitted you totally screwed it all up, and yet here she is again...

I mean, seriously—what exactly did he go through? What actually happened to him? I’m genuinely curious here, but I can't find a single thing written about it anywhere!

Honestly, you're a little late to the party... a retrospective like this can sometimes skew the core of the story, which means you might have just missed the mark... forget about it, though, because it probably won't sit right with you now anyway.

I agree... It would have looked stupid written down like that. He should've just followed her through the years. 😉

Mickey is a legend... and definitely someone you'd want to grab a drink with! 😁
Unlike everyone else, this guy actually feels genuine; he just stands out from the crowd. I don't think Hollywood managed to swallow him whole, and he still seems to be the same person he was at the start. Honestly, any number of Brad Pitts could hide in his shadow.
I really enjoyed Wrestler and that old, weathered, non-botoxed version of Mickey!

I can't claim to be completely objective about any specific character, but I don't find him unattractive. He just has a face you remember immediately. He was great in Wrestler.

Mickey Rourke is definitely one of my all-time favorite actors, 🙂 and honestly, he isn't ugly at all—he just has that certain something, you know? 😍
He was absolutely fantastic in Wild Orchid ☕

I really need to rewatch that Wrestler. I have to admit, it's hard to recognize him in his younger years after seeing what happened to his face over the years. Still, he wasn't ugly to me. 😉

I was watching Wrestler the other day and he is just phenomenal. I don't know if there's something wrong with me, but that guy is just incredibly badass. Look, I’m probably too young to really get everything he went through or all the absolute nonsense he had to deal with back in the day, but I can't help it—even now, looking at him all weathered and worn down, he's just pure 🙂. And don't even get me started on what a phenomenal actor he is. 🤷🤷

Wait, which woman? I don't even know the name of his first wife, or are we talking about Carre Otis? Or maybe some third lady?

Mickey Rourke is an absolute legend! Truly a powerhouse of an actor.

There are just a few films of his that stand out as truly monumental:
Year of the Dragon
9 1/2 Weeks (Kim Basinger)
Angel Heart (Robert De Niro, Lisa Bonet) - my number two choice here.
Barfly
The Wrestler - easily my number one.

I am eagerly anticipating the release of Immortals.

In my opinion, his absolute best work has to be 9 1/2 Weeks and Wild Orchid! 👍
