Hi, I have an installation CD for Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007. I want to install only Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as I have no use for the other programs included in this suite. However, whenever I insert the disc, the installer launches automatically and displays a window like the one shown here:
http://www.msoffice-tutorial-trainin...e2007-pic4.gif
From there, the entire package begins installing. I don't need those extra applications, and they’ll just end up wasting disk space.
Is there a way to perform a custom installation for just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint? I've tried several different methods, but nothing has worked. Any help?

When you first open up the offer, does the menu give you the option for a pre-built kit or a custom build?

Some of these packages just run on autopilot—you basically just let the installer do its thing, then head over to Add/Remove Programs and hit that 'Change' option. From there, you can just strip out whatever components you don't actually need.

Thanks, I got it working.👍

It’s just a low-quality pirate rip...

1. Please explain how a "bad pirated copy" actually changes the installation process. I'd love to know what to look out for next time.
2. What exactly do you mean by that? How does Office even end up on the internet like this? Does "pirated" imply someone released their own custom version instead of just a copy of an original disc?
3. What makes you think he has a pirated version rather than an original disc or a clean copy? It’s not like you’re buying software at a flea market for 1.2 miles in some backwater town.

2. What's your take on how Office ends up on the internet in these cases? What does "pirated" even mean here—that pirates released their own "version" of Office instead of just making a copy from an original CD/DVD?
3. How did you conclude this guy has a pirated copy rather than an original CD/DVD or a legitimate copy of the original? (It’s not like you can just pick up Office at a flea market for 1.2 miles everywhere.)

Sir, I know this from firsthand experience. I've downloaded plenty of different versions of Microsoft Office. People integrate the product key directly into the installer so the setup runs automatically; it doesn't ask what you want or don't want, it just installs everything. There are even "silent" Microsoft Office installations where you get the entire suite in five minutes without a single prompt. Those are the "ACTIVATED" versions. And just so you're aware, you can buy Microsoft Office for 3.1 miles in America just as easily as anywhere else. So, how do I know it's a pirated version? I know by the way the installation starts. An original version begins with their standard copyright notices and all that. So, let's not pretend you're the smartest person in the room.😁

Every genuine product must provide an introduction like the one shown in the image. If he truly had an original copy rather than a low-quality pirated version, he would be able to choose exactly what he needs to install. I know you'll probably jump on this like a dog on a bone, but I'm done with this discussion.

And then it proceeds to install every single program in the package. It’s a waste of disk space for things I'll never touch.
Does anyone know how to install just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint? I've tried a few different ways to get around it, but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

If you need a copy of Office 2007 like the one in that picture, I can send it over... though we might want to check with placidcobra49 to see if they actually have an official version or if theirs is just another low-quality bootleg...

I won't be jumping; I'm just "observing" your replies... much like that person with the Word 2003 Schema.. you provide a link as a solution, but it doesn't even address the original poster's actual issue.. or someone asks if listening to an internet radio station will give them a virus, and you reply
"Don't listen to the radio through headphones, you might get a virus in your ear and then you won't be able to listen to anything at all..."...the point is, not everyone is as brilliant as you☕...someone asks for freeware to clean their registry and your answer is..""Eh, if you could actually find someone to run it, then you'd be doing real work..."...your response was "It should go away eventually...."...this is supposed to help someone🤣...I don't claim to be a genius, but thankfully not everyone is as smart as you; if you have nothing useful to say, maybe it's better to stay quiet☕
I'm not saying you don't understand IT, but perhaps it would be better if you stuck to the ancient ruins of the American Southwest.. just a suggestion😂

I am not suggesting you lack IT knowledge, but perhaps it would be wise to stick to exploring the ancient pyramids in Mexico.. that's my suggestion.😂

When faced with foolish questions, I offer an answer similar to this:Don't listen to the radio through headphones; a virus might crawl into your ear and then you won't be able to listen to anything at all..If you happen to be one of those people asking such questions, then it's no surprise you missed the sarcasm... As for the inquiry regarding freeware, that kind of response is exactly what should be given to someone who is too lazy to search for the answer on this forum. There are a million threads with answers like that already...☕that "It will probably go away" applies to anyone who thinks they know how to format and install a system, yet hasn't a clue whether an antivirus will disappear along with the formatting.... Regarding the pyramids, it would be better if you kept quiet so you don't stumble into another blunder; it's obvious that in your helplessness, you are simply trying to insult someone.☕

Noah Foster57 said:Look, I can tell just by how the installation kicks off. The genuine version always starts with that whole copyright prompt and blah, blah, blah. So, maybe don't act like you've got all the answers here.😁 Every legitimate install has to include an intro like the one in the screenshot.

Not really—for instance, Volume Licensing versions have that "express" install style where you don't need a serial number or activation... besides, any Microsoft Office installation can be tweaked using Microsoft Office customization tools so there's zero user interaction required during the setup process.

So, you think anyone asking a question like this is an idiot just because they aren't as "tech-savvy" as you? It's interesting how Americans judge people. I guess now I understand why the answer to that old joke about Americans is... there aren't any, because every single one is true. 😂🤣

This really just speaks to your character and nothing else. I’ll let people decide for themselves just how brilliant you are... there’s no need for me to elaborate. Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything resembling a logical argument from you anyway...

He almost certainly did something along those lines... or perhaps he just purchased a version that was already pre-configured like that.

I’m running into a bit of a loop while trying to install Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007. It asks for my product key, I enter it, and everything seems fine at first. But once I hit "Install Now," the process gets halfway through and then just hangs. It prompts me to open some kind of directory related to enterprise setup—I try clicking the CD drive, but the installation just restarts, hits the same wall, and asks me again. It’s stuck in this endless cycle of prompts, so I eventually just had to kill the process. Does anyone know what might be causing this headache?

Look, just try to type out exactly what’s on your screen—or better yet, just paste a screenshot right here—because what you just wrote makes absolutely zero sense.
