Bernie just stared at me, confused
– 'Mladen?'
– 'Jergović, he used to work for you.'
– 'Oh, that Mladen. What is that clown up to these days?'
– 'He’s with us now, on TV, acting as a special Formula 1 analyst.'
– 'An F1 analyst??? You guys must be getting desperate.'

He just waved me off and muttered, 'It's always nothing but trouble with Mladen.'

Not that I’m one to judge or anything, but if you look at this whole exchange through the lens of that dry British humor Bernie is supposedly full of, you might actually find that Bernie knows Mladen pretty well. I kind of fear that by trying to discredit Jergović, Blažičko might have just ended up shooting himself in the foot, I guess.

Looks like he’s in need of some new windows and doors 🤣🤣🤣

Midway through the month, the decision finally hit my inbox via email: Štetner offered me compensation in the form of PVC window frames and heating oil...

Winter is coming fast, so maybe he actually does need that oil. 😁

Though, given how slow our court system moves, it wouldn't be surprising if the purchase was handled through FINA via a garnishment order. 🤔

Given what we know about Bernie, this just shows he knows him pretty well, rather than being some random stranger...😉

His columns were easily some of the most impactful things to ever stir up interest in this sport across the US and beyond. When he shut down his old site, it was honestly a bit depressing. The man simply knows Formula 1, period. This move is going to elevate the entire portal to a whole new level.

I am genuinely pleased to see Mladen Jergović returning to active commentary on Formula 1 news. In fact, the GP1 portal is in desperate need of an editor who actually knows what they are doing. This is a fantastic development for those of us following the coverage.
The second point—and frankly, the one thing that drove me absolutely mad about his declining portal—was how incredibly sensitive he was to any opinion that strayed from his own. This predictably led to instances of mockery, such as when he uncritically defended Hamilton in Mario's style, only for TBF to debunk him with actual footage, causing him to spiral and delete TBF's comments.
Ultimately, I believe everything will turn out perfectly if he simply sticks to the style of the discussions found in the forum comment sections.

Jergica is such a sweetheart. Honestly, I'm stoked he's back.

Mladen is alright.
He knows his stuff when it comes to Formula 1, and honestly, everything else is just noise...

Look, he hasn't been in Formula 1 for like 15 years—most drivers from his era are basically retired or gone by now—and the tech has changed completely. So, if he actually knows what's up, it's just because he's reading and following stuff online just like you or me.

Plus, he's about as intense as Jacques Herbert 😁

I’ve been reading through the comments over on GP1, and honestly, what can I even say? It didn't take long at all... 🙂

His very first post in the comment section—and mind you, nobody had even said anything to him yet, people were just asking questions, which is standard procedure:

"Greetings, though only to those capable of truly appreciating hard work and expertise. As for the rest of you, feel free to crawl back into the gutter and go treat your itch there."

First things first: let’s get one thing straight—there’s no room for haters on this site anymore. As soon as the news broke that I’m taking over these pages, a few characters popped up trying to tell the world (but mostly themselves) that 1/ Jergović is an idiot, 2/ he isn't actually an F1 expert, 3/ they finally have a reason to never visit this website again, 4/ and so on.
