Modem issues!

Siri, quick heads-up to the admins—not entirely sure which subforum this belongs in!

I’m working with an iPhone 15 modem.
I'm on a cable connection, and the second I fire up my laptop, it’s automatically hooked up.

Could someone walk me through how to switch it into a mode where I actually have control over turning the connection on and off myself?

As it stands, I'm basically locked out from downloading anything from this forum properly, so any help would be appreciated.

You can just set up a PPPoE connection and create a shortcut right on your desktop; then, a quick double-click lets you connect or disconnect whenever you need. Also, you can put the modem into standby mode using the button located on the top
