I truly believe we are looking at a dangerous precedent here—actually, I sincerely hope it *is* a precedent—that someone can be arbitrarily slapped with a six-month ban just because they voiced an opinion (which, I should add, was exceptionally well-argued) and the mods decided that they simply don't want someone representing those views.

I’ve combed through the site rules, and I haven't found a single mention of such a penalty; so, if it isn't explicitly in the rules, one has to wonder what the point of having rules even is if the moderators can just bypass them whenever they reach a private agreement among themselves. It is frankly baffling to me how individuals who behave in such a manner could ever be entrusted with moderating any platform whatsoever.
