Moderator notice

I killed off my old account, so I'm using this one now. I'm not interested in posting from an account that's stuck with partial bans on three different subreddits.

It's not like you guys can permanently ban me from the psychology board, no matter what I do... So why can't these partial bans just be lifted? Seriously, what kind of rules are these? Get it together.

Even with this account, you still can't post in the subreddits where you've got a partial ban. You have to wait six months just to send a request to get it cleared.

The thing is, those partial bans are essentially indefinite—they're permanent unless someone decides otherwise. Removing them isn't a right you can claim; it's entirely at the discretion of the site admins. Plus, just so we're clear, a ban applies to the actual person, not just the specific username. You aren't allowed to jump into subreddits where you've been restricted using any other profile. Don't try it, because this current account could end up getting a permanent ban, and the other one could get hit with a multi-week suspension. If it keeps happening, the penalties only get harsher.

It’s cool of you to own up to it, but you didn't actually fix anything.
Next time you decide to make a new profile, maybe just lay low and see how things go. 🙂

Then just change the rules. My behavior in the psychology section didn't warrant a permanent ban. I've been banned from the men's section for two years. If I'm not allowed to post in psychology, then I'm not posting anywhere on this whole site. So go ahead, give me a permaban on this account and on unknown too. You hand out permanent bans without any explanation, acting all high and mighty without saying why. Maybe one of the moderators from the psychology section can show up here and explain why I'm barred from there. Or the mods from the men's section—why am I banned from that section for two years? I started threads here, looked for you guys, wrote appeals... sent private messages to the mods. Clearly, something is broken in your rulebook. You shouldn't be able to just drop a permanent ban on someone because you're in a bad mood, and then have an admin step in to defend it by saying removing a ban is "at their discretion." And now a moderator from psychology has the nerve to give me a permanent ban on a profile I registered 15 years ago. I'm not writing on a site that practices this kind of censorship...

Just a bit of unsolicited advice here—looking at this from one angle, the forum offers a certain level of anonymity, and since nobody truly knows the inner workings of how everything is managed behind the scenes, it’s actually quite easy to mask an alt account. But then again, if someone has reached a point in their life where they’ve shaken off their old ways, or perhaps they realized they were playing some shady games in the past and now genuinely want a clean slate, isn't it much more honorable to just come out and say so? On one hand, I feel we should give people a second chance rather than catering to those who prefer to lurk in the shadows; however, on the other hand, if the admins know exactly who is behind the screen, they’re going to be significantly less forgiving if that person decides to fall right back into their old, toxic patterns.

Here's the deal: admins don't just strip partial bans. It’s entirely up to the specific moderator handling that PDF, and most of them can't be bothered to remember some random user, let alone want them cluttering up their subforum.
It's not like you can just get it lifted easily. Larry Walker24 (hey 🙂) actually asked to have his partial ban dropped for a few days just so he could post about the Eurovision Song Contest, but the guy wouldn't budge. 😵

Personally, I have endured far more severe insults myself, yet the moderators failed to act (I didn't file a formal report, but others certainly did! ...take note, if there are insults directed at me, there is no reaction) ..
