Hey everyone!

So, I’ve run into a bit of a situation with how one of the moderators, Tim Cook, has been acting lately, and I was wondering if someone unbiased could point me in the right direction regarding who to talk to about this? Honestly, I feel like my rights as a user here have been totally stepped on.
Could someone please take a look at her posts over in that "List Your Flaws" thread and tell me if you think that kind of behavior is actually okay?
I really only joined this forum to hang out and have some good conversations, and I’m definitely not the type of person to go around attacking people or being rude to anyone, but I also can't just sit there and let someone insult me for no reason like she did.
The kicker is that after I actually tried to defend my point with solid arguments, she went ahead and banned me—I mean, is that even normal behavior?

She claimed she was doing it because my post was "off-topic," which is just straight-up wrong, especially since her own posts were wandering way off-topic too, which is exactly what I pointed out to her... so the whole thing feels super absurd because if we're going by her logic, she should probably be the one getting banned since her comments were nowhere near the actual subject.

I’m really hoping this ban gets overturned, but if not, then honestly, just go ahead and delete my account and profile entirely, because I have zero interest in hanging out on a forum like this.

Got a link?

I really hope this ban gets overturned, otherwise just delete my handle and my profile. I have zero interest in being part of a forum like this.

What ban? And just so you know, we never delete profiles or posts.

New users constantly run into trouble with her. Just wait until she decides you're her next target...😁
I’m pretty sure this woman hasn't even heard of a yellow card in her entire life—she goes straight for the red, and she packs extra points on them just for fun. No warnings, no "hey, chill out," just instant bans or red cards.
If she decides she doesn't like someone, she’ll just let a whole thread spiral out of control while she baits that person, all while playing the "oh, I'm so clueless" card. That’s just one of her little tricks, and trust me, there are plenty more.
Someone needs to tell her to take it down a notch.
I guess I'm allowed to vent about this here. 🤔

edit; I should probably mention another one of her moves—she'll provoke an entire thread into a frenzy herself, and the second you snap back at her? BOOM, ban. Red cards flying everywhere. And since you were provoked into acting out, she’ll claim your post is "bad behavior" so you can't even complain. It’s clearly the goal. Real genius stuff right there. 🙂

I’m officially joining the "we’re fed up with Tim Cook’s moderation" club.
Because of her, I don't even bother visiting the women's lounge anymore.
One time, she actually recruited a bunch of trolls to harass and belittle me. It was disgusting—they were even calling my kid a little beggar on a street corner in downtown Chicago and stuff like that.
And nobody got banned for it. Apparently, she was totally fine with it as long as it targeted me, even though I reported every single one of those posts.
Then, when I made a joke about being a guy and told some other user I’d "kick her butt until her eyes pop out"... boom. 500 points gone and a week-long ban.
Just like that. Seriously. It felt like she had been sitting there for days, just waiting for me to slip up so she could pounce.
Man, I would’ve expected a 45-point penalty. But 500? OMG.
Especially when I see what other people get away with posting without any consequences at all...

She’s not objective.
It’s obvious her moderation style is just a way to vent her own frustrations and prove a point. Sorry, but that’s how it looks.

Take Kim Kardashian, for example. She has never once abused her moderator status.
Not even once.
I’ve seen posts directed at her on Netflix that would probably land someone like Tim Cook with a permanent ban if they were in her shoes. But Kim Kardashian doesn't even issue a warning, because she clearly doesn't feel the need to prove anything to herself or anyone else by acting like a power-tripping tyrant.

Personally, I’d much rather have more moderators like Kim Kardashian... and fewer like Tim Cook, who bring nothing but negative energy and bad vibes to the job... which honestly just ruins the whole forum.
I mean, if you can't joke around a bit and be relaxed in the women's lounge without worrying someone's going to jump down your throat over something tiny... then this place is seriously lame.

It totally feels like she enjoys handing out bans. Is moderation some kind of competition to see who can hand out the most penalties?

edit; here's another one: she stirs the pot until everyone's riled up, then—boom—instant ban. Red cards flying everywhere. Since you were provoked, you can't complain when the post turns sour. That’s the whole point. Use your head. 🙂

This hits the nail on the head. Honestly, I didn't even need to post my own take.

I honestly feel like the way Tilly is handling things just doesn't fly with the actual community guidelines, and I’m pretty certain there’s a whole group of us who have had some really rough experiences where our rights as members were totally stepped on by her actions. I mean, deleting threads out of nowhere, being rude to people, and handing out penalties without any real reason... isn't that just totally uncalled for? It's not how a healthy community should work, right?
I'm really holding out hope that someone in charge actually looks into this so we can all just hop back onto the boards and enjoy hanging out and chatting without having to deal with her constant interruptions, insults, threats, or those random thread deletions.
Huge shoutout to the rest of the moderation team, though, because they are seriously killing it and doing an amazing job👍

Look, you’ve got 26 posts under your belt, you're already clashing with the mods, and you've managed to flag FEMA already.

You're practically a local legend here, Rachel Taylor40. 😬

The mods can't be nearly as brutal as you are. Just stay chill and keep it classy, then you won't have to go making huge threads about Tilly or any other moderator.

When things get too annoying, just hit ALT+F4 and all these forum headaches will disappear instantly. 🙂

Look, guys, links are everything on this forum. Without them, you’re just out here talking in circles and nobody is going to take you seriously.

Rachel Taylor40, if you're asking about your ban—it was totally justified. You don't get to debate moderation decisions, especially on threads that have nothing to do with FEMA.

The ban is totally unjustified, and honestly, the way Tilly reacted by claiming my post was off-topic is just plain wrong, which you can clearly see from what I’ve attached here.
It’s funny because her own posts have been drifting way away from the actual topic too, if you look at the screenshots I provided.
So, basically, while I'm being accused of missing the point, the attachments show that Tilly herself was the one who lost the thread, posting stuff that belonged in a mental health forum rather than this women's community—maybe she just couldn't handle me actually sticking to the subject?
A bunch of people have already chimed in to say her behavior hasn't been rational lately, and it really feels like we're dealing with someone who isn't cut out for this role and might be struggling with their own mental headspace.
It feels like there's this huge push right now to protect Tilly even though it's super obvious she broke the site rules and is acting like a total tyrant, leaving a lot of us users feeling pretty fed up with her.
I’m really hoping there's someone else in management I can reach out to about how poorly she's handling things, so if any other users have had bad experiences with her, please, please speak up!

Rachel Taylor40, regarding that warning you got—honestly, it makes total sense. You can't really argue with how moderation works outside of the main general discussion threads, even if your specific situation feels a bit... debatable.

My warning wasn't actually justified at all, because the moderator was being totally aggressive; she claimed my post didn't fit the topic and slapped me with a strike for that, yet her own posts were completely off-topic too, so why didn't she get one herself?
I don't really see the point in arguing since everything is right there for anyone to read, and it's pretty obvious that her behavior is a straight-up violation of the forum rules.
I'm wondering if there's anyone else I can reach out to about this totally wild and tyrannical behavior from someone acting like they have serious issues, specifically regarding the moderator Tilly, because it's affecting me and everyone else here.

Look, if you keep using this tone and being insulting like that, nobody is ever going to take you seriously.
