I went ahead and placed my order through Quest Diagnostics last month for May.
If you get a notice saying you need to head back for a follow-up in two months to review some imaging, here’s exactly how you should handle it:
You basically book your MRI as a self-pay patient, then once you've finished the exam, you file a claim with Medicare to get reimbursed. I remember someone mentioning on this forum that there are specific official forms you can use for that process. Last year, I just took the DIY route—I wrote up my request on a plain sheet of paper, attached copies of my medical records along with the original receipt, and boom: three months later, the money was back in my account!
