Man, I’ve been dealing with some seriously sluggish speeds for the last day or two...

I honestly thought maybe switching to a different web browser would fix things, but I haven't even bothered trying because everything is just crawling... it's so hard to get anything to actually load or even start up properly...

Even just scrolling through a bunch of photos takes forever...

I don't want to clutter this thread with screenshots, but I was looking into my startup settings...

Basically, I hit Command Prompt and then check my startup options, and there are easily 20 useless little programs checked off in there...

Since they all try to launch the second I turn the computer on, I can't help but wonder if they're the reason everything is such a mess...

Also, does anyone have a link for a decent, free antivirus?

An antivirus will just slow you down even more since it eats up a ton of RAM. My first recommendation: open Command Prompt and type,

chkdsk c: /r

It’ll ask y/n, press y and restart the computer, then just let it finish its work.

To get things moving, I’d suggest grabbing CCleaner, AdwCleaner, and Malwarebytes—just type them into Google and you'll find them easily enough. You can also look up JRT. Once you have those installed, run a full scan to clean up the system and see if that helps stabilize everything.
