I’m honestly not sure if I’ve picked up some kind of malware or something, but my computer has been acting incredibly strange lately, and now my printer has decided to join in on the chaos... Everything used to run perfectly smooth, but now it feels like the whole system has just broken down on me... I did recently swap out the ink cartridges for some third-party replacements, so I can't help but wonder if that might be the root of the issue?
To give you the specifics, I’m using an HP OfficeJet Pro, and ever since I installed those aftermarket ink cartridges—whether that was a coincidence or the direct cause, I truly cannot say—the printer has completely lost its ability to feed paper properly; instead of printing, it just grabs the sheet and jams it halfway through the mechanism, which means I have to dismantle everything just to fish the paper out again...
Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this? Could it be the ink? Or is the machine simply dead? And if it really is broken, does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable repair shop where I can drop it off for a diagnostic? I ask because I dealt with a technician once before who charged me about $117, only for me to realize later that the entire issue stemmed from the third-party ink—it seems the device just wouldn't accept those specific cartridges. Once I switched to a different brand, everything started working fine again, even though those guys insisted they had performed a full cleaning and all sorts of maintenance on it...
