Does anyone know how I can quote just a specific part of someone's post instead of the whole thing? Thanks!πŸ™‚

Just hit "quote" and then manually delete whatever parts you don't want to include...πŸ˜‰

Just click it. Just delete whatever part you don't want to quote.

What's up?

Big Johnny, you aren't just doing this because they gave you instructions on how to handle it earlier

I guess I learned that from you, though. So maybe you should be the admin instead.πŸ™‚

Basically, you just hit quote on the first response, grab whatever text pops up, then go back and quote the second postβ€”just paste the first part right into that oneβ€”and boom, you get this

No problem at all, seriously, don't even mention it πŸ™‚

In Firefox, just use the middle-click! πŸ™‚

Thanks so much!

There's more coming...

Is there a way to quote multiple parts from one post while still getting a separate text box after each one?

you're welcome, again.

There's more..

of course there isβ€”we're just getting started.

Is there a way to quote multiple parts from one post, where each part gets its own little reply box?

okay, now that's getting a bit tricky, but you can actually 😁 😁 😁

quote the post, then right after the specific section you want to highlight, hit it with the tagβ€”that closes out the first snippet. Then you write your own stuff, go back to the next part of the original post you want to pull, put the
tag in front of it, close it with
, and just keep going like that... if you don't want to type it all, you can use that little icon that looks like a comic book speech bubbleβ€”it's right next to the image upload button in the menuβ€”and that thing will automatically wrap the tags around whatever text you've highlighted!

* - just remember, no spaces after the [ bracket!

A bit off-topic 😁

You can write
without any spaces πŸ˜‰

Oh, waitβ€”I can also type :pusa:, but most people can't... πŸ˜‰

casualowl1 said:So, how do you actually quote multiple posts in one reply?

It's pretty simple since the vBulletin crew built this thing. There's a button right next to the quote buttonβ€”just click that on whatever posts you want to include. But no, apparently those geniuses failed miserably at upgrading the forum software.πŸ™‚

I guess they're just high quality. Reminds me of that one guy who nuked a few forums; took me all of four minutes to find his cell number and another minute to track down his full name and home address. This pro is from my neighborhood.
