Need some clarification here

Is it standard practice on this Reddit to get infractions and have open threads deleted with nothing but a vague "you violated forum rules" explanation?

I honestly don't get why my thread was nuked or why I just got hit with 30 penalty points. If anyone actually knows what happened, I guess I'd appreciate some clarity. Here is the message from the moderator:

It touches everything from our classic anti-American sentiment to our typical "praise my lifestyle" refusal to criticize our diet and health habits, not to mention our usual primitive generalizations about cultures and customs we barely understand.

I’m actually pretty glad you decided to repost this. Honestly, just to balance out all the negativity, I’m looking for something in your posts that I can actually get behind—something we can use to build a future that's just as witty, but maybe a little more upbeat.

The one thing that keeps popping into my head? That Politics subforum where someone drops a massive list of candidates and then leaves a snarky comment just like yours... if people actually treated that as normal, that would be the absolute worst place for me to be a moderator.
