If you're dealing with something complicated, you absolutely need to head to a public hospital. Don't bother with private clinics. It really depends on the specific situation, but you're better off at a place like Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins rather than some boutique facility.

The real issue with the hospital system is that nobody seems to have any time for you; they just cycle you back in every six months and call it a day. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of empathy for doctors—they have incredibly difficult jobs—but sometimes their specific way of handling things can be just plain frustrating.
I even tried seeing someone at a private clinic, $283 and within half an hour, we were done... yet it felt like absolutely nothing was actually accomplished! At the end of the day, those private practitioners are primarily businessmen first and physicians second, with very few exceptions to that rule.

It’s true that you’re looking at about a six-month wait for an appointment, but from what I understand, if there’s a genuine complication, they’ll move you up the list. You have to realize this isn't a matter of doctors being indifferent. They aren't lacking the will; they're simply overwhelmed by the sheer volume of patients in the system.

I don't know many neurologists here in the States.

But I wouldn't rush straight to the hospital. You should probably see a neuropsychiatrist first to get a full re-evaluation of what you're experiencing.

Hey everyone, I'm bringing this thread back to life because I have a few questions. I’ve got this weird sensation in my hands—specifically my right hand, where the motor skills feel just off. I'm also getting these strange tingles in my right leg, and the weirdest part is my face, specifically the upper and lower right lip.

I haven't found the cause yet. This has been going on for over five years now. My test results all come back "normal," but I need someone to help me make sense of the following:

* Mid-range cerebral activity shows mixed alpha frequencies. No partial blocking, asymmetries, or paroxysms detected.
Results are within normal limits.

* VEP shows conduction issues in the fibers projecting to the first optical quadrant.
For stimulation in both eyes, a P100 wave with borderline amplitude is recorded, along with prolonged latencies for the right crossed fibers and left uncrossed fibers.

* SSEP. Neurograms were detected over the brachial plexus, spinograms over C7, and cortical responses over the hand sensory region.

CT and MRI are fine.
