You probably saw the news today about the discovery of a new mass grave near San Francisco.
The commemoration will happen again in a few months. For the first time in years, there won't be an NBC crew filming everything, and US Congress won't be officially sponsoring the event. Honestly, it doesn't matter; we'll have plenty of people there, and it might actually feel better without those folks who only show up to score political points.

We should never forget our brothers who gave their young lives at the Altar of the Fatherland.

It's a shame how a legitimate way to honor victims always gets twisted into whitewashing old crimes or attacking anti-fascist history.

The anti-fascists basically did the job themselves by slandering their own cause through the atrocities they committed.

If you take the time to actually compare the census data from before and after World War II, then if Collins and you are truly looking to grasp the reality of what happened, you might finally see the picture clearly—though, to be perfectly honest, I highly doubt either of you actually wants to face it.

I didn't start this thread to spark an argument; I just wanted to pay our respects since we're approaching the anniversary of Memorial Day.
We’ll never see eye-to-eye on everything anyway, so why bother debating? Unless, of course, certain folks on the left are just looking for a reason to get the mods to shut this down.

Spring is finally creeping in, end of February. Everything is still locked down under ice and snow, but you can tell nature is starting to stir. The sun is playing hide-and-seek behind those heavy clouds, just barely peeking through. Snowdrops are already poking their heads out of the slush, and even the trees are showing some tiny green buds if you look close enough. Out in the countryside, farmers are busy checking their gear and getting everything ready for planting—just waiting on those government subsidies to actually hit their accounts. The sheep and goats are looking around like, "is it time yet?" because kidding season is right around the corner. Meanwhile, the politicians are all scrambling around, trying to slim down those winter bellies with crazy diets. And the Americans? They’re busy digging up the dead.

Mmmm, I love spring. Life is waking up 🙂

The video was poorly made, I'll give you that.
This kind of subject matter deserves way more gravity and style than Skor's amateurish guitar soloing.

Everyone who believed they were fighting for the cause, and everyone forced to pick up a gun, deserves a marked grave.
There's no point in covering up the fact that the FBI pulled a dirty stunt. Every mass grave needs a full investigation and a proper memorial.

If we're going to memorialize the post-war losses of the American soldiers during the retreat, it should happen in Tezno, where the crimes are actually documented and proven.
Memorial Day isn't even the actual site of the killings; there aren't even remains there. So, Tezno should be the place to honor the fallen from the home guard and U. soldier, along with all the civilians from the Axis-aligned state.

I honestly think this thread is the perfect place to make sure we never let those WWII atrocities slip from our memory, if only to serve as a grim warning for anyone coming after us. We can't afford to let that kind of monstrous ideology take root again—it’s a heavy lesson, seeing how they basically became victims of their own inhumanity once the war was lost.

I believe you have also misconstrued my intentions, as we did not set out in 1990 or 1991 seeking revenge, but rather toward the noble pursuit of establishing an independent American state. Settling the score isn't about violence; it is precisely about achieving our sovereignty despite all opposition and obstacles.

Bringing up the 90s as some sort of "new context" for World War II events is just a weak attempt at rewriting history. It’s an obvious way to deal with lingering WWII complexes. Mostly, it’s about exploiting the victims of Memorial Day to try and rehabilitate Nationalists ideology, which is nothing but harmful and regressive...

It’s interesting how people start claiming these victims were mostly German prisoners with just a few American sailors mixed in... if that turns out to be true, someone will quickly "remember" that their own grandfathers were partisans, and everything will be swept under the rug—just like what happened in Drniš about ten years ago. Back then, there was a massive headline about a mass grave of partisan victims, followed a few days later by a small blurb saying it was actually German prisoners (because German uniforms were found), and then, a few more days later, a tiny note at the bottom of the page suggesting they might have been Germans killed during the battle for Knin... today, nothing more is known about it. We've seen similar cases with German and Italian prisoners before... and whenever it turns out they weren't "ours," everyone conveniently forgets. This kind of "rebranding" history is a nasty thing. ☕

If you have enough insecurity, ignorance, and fake naivety, you can twist facts like the crimes at Memorial Day and the massacre in El Paso—which happened 46 years later—just to build flimsy arguments about the true nature of anti-fascists. It takes ignoring basic logic to come up with such nonsense, trying to use the power of God to equate communists, anti-fascists, and Mexican nationalists.
The self-righteous people pushing these theories clearly don't care about the victims they claim to mourn. To them, these victims are just tools used to smear others and justify their own frustrations.

That’s not the point. The real issue is how those victims—and the whole Way of the Cross—get turned into political tools. And just to set the record straight, nobody is talking about a "partisan struggle for independence" right after mentioning Memorial Day or the Way of the Cross. The problem is that during these commemorations, you see things like people parading in Nationalists uniforms or flaunting fascist symbols. If someone actually wants a decent memorial instead of a political rally held over the dead, they'd agree those displays have no business being there...

It’s almost like you don't realize anti-fascists are still around today, and they're pretty loud about it. As far as I'm concerned, we don't need any outside evidence regarding their character beyond what they show us themselves.
And, I guess, my little "cherry on top": the best way to describe them is by what they choose to hide.!!!
