New Acropolis?

I keep seeing posters all over Washington, D.C. for this organization, advertising all these lectures on philosophy, history, culture, and stuff like that. On one hand, the topics look pretty interesting, but on the other... I don't know. It feels a bit like they're just selling smoke or running some kind of "tax on fools" scheme. Honestly, with a name that sounds like it belongs to some secret society, cult, or even something like the Freemasons or Jehovah's Witnesses, it gives me major brainwashing and indoctrination vibes.
Has anyone here actually dealt with them before? Is it worth showing up to these talks they’re promoting, or is my gut feeling right and I should just save myself the trouble? Thanks in advance.

I’ve actually found them quite useful for a few seminars I attended. I haven't exactly spent my life deep-diving into their entire catalog, but so far, I’m liking the vibe—they aren't shackled to one single, rigid philosophy.

There are some really interesting lectures in there, and honestly, they’re super well-put-together. But, from what I’ve heard through the grapevine from a former member, the whole thing feels a bit like a cult in a lot of ways.
