Hey,
Writing this because my hands have been tingling lately and I wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this.
Basically, I went all out doing some heavy lifting—stuff I’m definitely not used to since my job is mostly sitting at a desk—and now my palms and part of my arm up to the elbow are numb. It’s that weird pins-and-needles feeling you get when your hand falls asleep.
My doctor basically told me it’s just what happens when you aren't in shape and suddenly overexert yourself. She mentioned that the leverage from the heavy lifting might have pinched some nerves in my neck, which is why I'm feeling it in my hands. So, she gave me some neck exercises and told me to just... wait.
The issue is, I can't really step away from work right now—I need my hands to be precise for what I do. Has anyone gone through something similar? And more importantly, how long does the recovery actually take?
