So, my left hand has been acting up—specifically my pinky and the area right next to it. It tingles a few times a day, but once night hits, it just goes completely numb. I feel like I’ve lost all strength in it; whenever I grab something, my hand starts shaking like it's giving out on me. If anyone has any idea what this could be, please let me know... I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow, but a little reassurance would go a long way right now.

I forgot to mention—not sure if it's related, but: I get these occasional sharp pains in my chest too. I went to the ER for some tests and they couldn't find anything wrong, even though it felt like a stabbing sensation at the time.

Also, my back is killing me when I wake up in the morning. I really need to stretch out just to feel human again.

I do spend quite a bit of time at my desk on the computer, probably a few hours every day, so maybe that's part of it.

It is difficult to say for certain; it could be carpal tunnel syndrome, a calcium deficiency, or perhaps something neurological...

Or perhaps just a minor stimulation, like a light touch to a peripheral nerve...

It isn't carpal tunnel syndrome, otherwise you would be feeling it in your pinky finger. That said, there could be pressure on one of your terminal nerves. I am not sure what your blood sugar levels are like or what kind of work you do—could that be part of the issue? You really ought to get an EMG performed to rule out ulnar nerve compression before looking into anything else. It could be anything at all...
