NVIDIA driver issues

So, I’ve got this HP EliteBook running with 8GB of RAM, but every time I try to fire up Call of Duty, I get hit with this error message: "Your graphics driver may be outdated. It is recommended that you use NVIDIA driver 14.12 or newer."

Basically, it's nagging me to install those 14.12 drivers (or anything higher), but whenever I download them, the installation just fails on my laptop. It seems like the drivers I currently have installed are the only ones that actually work with this specific machine, so these new ones aren't compatible at all. Does anyone know if there's some kind of workaround or a way I can force these drivers onto the computer so I can finally play Call of Duty?

Did you happen to uninstall your old NVIDIA drivers first, give the laptop a quick restart, and then go ahead with downloading and installing the latest NVIDIA driver?

How did it go? Did you make sure to wipe out the old drivers before you started installing the new ones they recommended?
If that still didn't do the trick, there's a good chance your graphics card just isn't compatible with these newer drivers.
