Offside?

How does this whole thread even make sense I mean, there are almost 200k posts in here, yet suddenly one true black metal band doesn't qualify anymore? Why can't they just pick a set of criteria and stick to them?

Regarding how we handle threads, any topic on the forum that hits the 10,000 post mark gets closed, without exception, and then we just start a fresh one if people are still interested. It doesn't really matter who originally started the thread—we just put a link to the old one in the very first post of the new one and call it a day. c/p Tyndall.

I suspect they might let this one run until it hits 200k posts before locking it down. I mean, it would be pretty silly to shut a thread down when it's only 50 posts away from hitting 200 THOUSAND.

And we weren't even allowed to hit 100k with NP. It wasn't just a rule, either—they were actually firing moderators over stuff like that. So there you go. 🙏
