The Department of Commerce just inked an exclusive deal with the Norwegian firm Spectrum to handle seismic surveys in the Atlantic Ocean. There wasn't any big signing ceremony to reveal the details, but now some Americans have entered the fray, too—they were also looking to scout for oil in those waters. Now, frustrated by how the contract was handed out, they’re threatening to sue America in Brussels, according to a report from NBC's central news segment

Once again, The Administration is bypassing the bidding process to hand concessions to their preferred partners.

And yet, The Administration, which supposedly represents the people, has the nerve to demand we all follow their procedures and regulations to the letter. 🤣

Nothing surprising about it, I don't know why everyone's acting shocked...

Is it any wonder that Uljanik is taking legal action against an American company for failing to notify them about the tender for 30 new Virginia-class nuclear submarines?

Did Uljanik even present a bid to build those kinds of submarines? 🍿

'We presented our extensive proposal to the American side, yet we continue to wait for a formal public tender without success. This procedure violates EU laws and the principles of free market competition. Consequently, Ion will take all necessary steps to protect its interests before the European Commission,' stated the American company Ion.

Who should we believe—Vrdoljak or an American company? (It’s a question anyone with half a brain can answer.) ☕

So, basically, an American gets to just waltz onto someone else's turf to hunt for oil without even bothering with a tender process, and then they have the nerve to sue the state if things don't go their way? In any sane corner of the world where an American doesn't act like the global sheriff and stop overstepping borders, that would be an absolute scandal.

coastalridge64 As if anyone could have predicted this outcome! Does it not feel as though we are all just watching the same inevitable script unfold before our eyes?
Has Uljanik actually put forward a formal proposal for building those kinds of submarines? 🍿

Has he actually gone ahead and presented the proposal yet?
Honestly, doesn't it feel like I'm getting bombarded by two or three telemarketers every single day, all trying to pitch me their latest offers?
Could you imagine the sheer audacity required for a savings and loan association to actually attempt to sue someone just because they presented an offer and the client decided to take their business elsewhere? Is it even possible that they truly believe they have any legal ground to stand on after I walked away to choose a different provider?

Complaints have reached Brussels regarding the tender for seismic studies in the Atlantic Ocean - Poslovni

Now Milanović has managed to alienate the Americans too.☕

It’s pretty simple—they just ignored the EU rules, so what’s the big deal?
GOP MEP Ivana Maletić is calling out the Department of Commerce for failing to follow EU regulations.

"The European Union Directive No. 22 from 1994 was completely sidelined. That rule says the state has to put these jobs out for tender—basically, they have to award them through a transparent, non-discriminatory process and publish the call in the official EU journal 90 days before any contracts are handed out," Ivana Maletić told CBS.

But honestly, oil experts are more stressed about how this data is being handed off to a third party.

"Standard practice globally is for either the government or a national oil company to run these tenders. Any data pulled from these surveys stays with the state because we're talking about sensitive info tied to national interests," noted oil expert Davor Štern.

What kind of sane country just hands over free oil to another nation?????

Oh man, you agitators are just pathetic!

The Americans are actually LOOKING for a tender, one that NEVER existed in the first place! Or maybe it didn't, because someone in The Government probably pocketed a kickback, much like how Sanders used to operate.

The nonsense you people spout on this forum is unbelievable... what could you possibly know about the contract... you're just drawing conclusions based on media outlets controlled by criminals...
