Nothing much happened today, except that Yogi's ban expired and he immediately started picking fights with everyone. And why did he start lashing out at everyone? Apparently, Lucy told him in a DM that people were mass-reporting posts... or something like that. 🤷

The closing of those specific threads was actually bothering me for a few days.
Closing the US chat was just the final straw for me.

Just close it temporarily until you delete it and hand out the sanctions.
Don't punish us with a 24-hour lockout while threatening to get rid of the chat entirely.

To me, that level of communication feels extremely arrogant and rude.
Especially coming from someone who doesn't even participate in discussions with us.

Also, being a mod doesn't mean you're obligated to jump into every single debate. It's not required, but their job is basically doing the dirty work pro bono when needed. It's not their duty to be out here fighting every single post. 😁

I would also like to request that we reinstate the chat and refrain from shutting it down entirely. It seems unnecessary to me, as there are plenty of us who maintain a decent level of decorum, and I don't believe the situation has escalated to a point that warrants disabling the feature altogether. 🕺
If my memory serves me correctly, it remains one of the most active discussion threads on the forum, which is precisely why we see newcomers drifting over from other subforums only to end up being muted. ☕ We simply need to perform some informed moderation to clear out the noise and then move forward. 🤷

Well, don't, but I want to see this chat stay active.
The whole Gro RL scene and all the meetups started from there. Right from this specific chat.
We are a community and a chat where people most often hang out in person; I'd bet on that.

You don't need to be monitoring the chat twenty-four-seven to spot the two or three idiots causing trouble. Why is it always the nuclear option with these people?

I just feel like while scrolling through the PDF, I should occasionally run into a constructive moderator post.

Rather than seeing red text pop up mid-thread saying ... please keep the discussion civil.

Well then, show me an example of how to actually keep a discussion at that level, instead of yours being the only post in a twenty-page thread.
I can't exactly know what her criteria for a "civil discussion" are if she hasn't contributed anything to the topic itself.

Yeah, I mentioned that one morning I woke up in a bad mood and locked three threads in fifteen minutes, even though she’s usually nowhere to be seen.
And all without any explanation as to why the thread was closed.

The civility stuff really bothers me.

Where exactly am I supposed to find an explanation for why a topic gets shut down?
If I had sent her a private message, she probably would have just ignored it.
