So, the fourth installment is finally headed our way, and since we don't have a dedicated thread for it yet, I figured I’d just go ahead and get this party started myself! This fourth one actually picks up right where the second movie left off—which makes total sense, right? Since the third film was basically a prequel jumping back in time, it's a relief to finally be back on the actual timeline following the events of the second part.

Here’s a quick little synopsis pulled from Wikipedia. Just a heads-up though—watch out, because there might be some spoilers in here!

The film takes place five years after Paranormal Activity 2, which ended with Katia kidnapping Hunter. Now, Katia and Hunter (now called 'Robbie') have moved into a new house and their neighbors, Alice and her mother, begin experiencing paranormal events taking place in their home.

Man, after a killer night out, this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. 👋

Honestly, the second one was kind of a letdown, but the third installment really brought back that classic magic, so I’m fully expecting the fourth one to hit just as hard.

Honestly, no matter how you slice it, I’ve sat through all three of them now, and I actually thought they were pretty good! I’m definitely planning on giving the fourth one a watch too... though, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say I'm absolutely obsessed or anything. 🙂

I mean, even those Paranormal Activity movies have gotten pretty stale... ☕

I love how they keep jumping back into the past with every sequel.

Given how much momentum this franchise has picked up lately—and considering the massive return on investment they're seeing—we might actually be waiting a good while before we see more installments. 🙂

Well, you’re going to be waiting a long time. I actually just saw a rumor on some random entertainment site claiming they’re already prepping a fifth installment, even though this one hasn't even hit theaters yet... 😁

What a mess. This whole franchise is just dragging out 😲

I was actually just scrolling through some random overseas forum the other day and saw someone claiming they've already got a fifth installment in the works—which is wild, considering the current one hasn't even hit theaters yet... Right there with you! I'm seriously dying to see where the story goes in Paranormal Activity 4.

Heading out to catch 😁 today. I'm not expecting it to top the first one—though I am curious to see how the plot unfolds (or if it just gets even more tangled)—but I'll share my thoughts once I'm out.

I’ve always felt the first one was the absolute best because... well, you just can't beat that raw originality, though I have to say the second installment was also quite impressive since it leaned so perfectly into what the predecessor established... the third one was just okay, nothing to write home about really... and honestly, all the criticism surrounding Paranormal Activity 4 isn't looking particularly promising...

So, I just finished watching it. To be honest, it felt more like a second installment to me—not because it was scary, but because while it was interesting, I’m already counting down the days until the fifth one. My main gripe is that the plot doesn't really unravel much; we aren't actually learning anything new, which left me feeling a bit let down.

But what truly ruined the experience for me? A group of kids sitting near my seat who wouldn't stop shouting these incredibly moronic comments throughout the entire movie. It got to the point where I actually stood up and asked to have them removed. Of course, the staff at AMC Theatres just gave them a quick "hush" instead. Honestly, I think it'll be a long time before I step foot in an AMC Theatres again.

And that's exactly why horror movies aren't worth watching in theaters anymore...

I still go—well, only for the ones that actually catch my eye. People will always have something to say, I suppose, but today was just unbearable. I actually sent a complaint to the management; they completely ruined the experience for me.

Threaten them with some heavy-duty insults about their moms, and they'll shut up real quick. 🙂

Personally, I think the first movie is just decent, nothing too crazy... after that, I went to see the third one in theaters and brought a friend along, telling her that even though it’s a horror flick, it's more of a laugh than anything scary... but, man, she ended up totally freaking out and screaming the whole time in the theater, which actually kind of surprised me because the third one was actually pretty good. After that, I watched the second one and I thought it was better and way more intense than the first... now I'm just waiting for some decent quality version of the fourth one to drop online so I can finally check it out, unless I happen to catch it in a theater or something.
