Patient experiences

I am curious why certain users have the label 'patient' under their names and show no posts.
Are these users permanently banned from the forum?

Don't lose sleep over it. Those old-timers haven't been active in ages... I think there was a thread about this somewhere once. You don't see people like that anymore.

It’s essentially a digital ghost town situation; these are registered users who haven't posted in years and were eventually purged from the database, or more commonly, accounts that got caught in the crossfire during server migrations or a messy database error during a cyberattack.

Not quite; it’s actually more of a middle ground.

The affected users are just regular community members who were accidentally deleted during our recent server migration and software updates. They weren't banned, nor are they those inactive accounts that sign up without ever posting; they were simply lost in the shuffle due to a technical error. 🙂

Nobody actually claimed they were banned. And let's be real, you don't just lose users during a server migration; data can vanish from a MySQL database during a cyberattack, too. There's no need to get defensive or act superior just because you've stepped up as moderator Vic and Teens. I've managed everything from old-school vBulletin setups to phpBB2, phpBB3, and even a current myBB forum that functions quite similarly to vB.
