PC keeps restarting/rebooting

So, I went ahead and installed Windows 8.1 on my rig, and ever since then, I’ve been dealing with this incredibly annoying issue where the whole computer just randomly freezes up on me. Then, out of nowhere, you get that dreaded blue screen saying "your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart," and before I can even process what happened, the system just reboots itself after a few seconds. Usually, the error message points toward some kind of "critical structure corruption," though honestly, I can't tell you if that was the only one because it’s happened a few different ways, but I definitely remember this specific one since it keeps happening over and over again. I did a bit of digging on Google to see if anyone else was struggling with this, and most of the suggested fixes involved tweaking various PC settings, which I went through and did, but nothing really made a meaningful difference. It’s just as frustrating as it sounds.

Could you list out your full specs? Also—have you made sure to install all your drivers yet?

It looks like you're running into some driver issues.
Try using a tool like PCI Express to check out exactly what hardware you have installed on your system.
That kind of software will immediately show you what's there and give you a clear idea of where to hunt down drivers for every individual component.

Like Walter Gonzalez72 was saying, your drivers are definitely the culprit here. Just grab Driver Booster, run a scan, and once it flags everything that's outdated, just download the updates, reboot your rig, and you're golden 🙂

Why don't you just try a clean Windows reinstall or a repair install? Honestly, with Windows 7—and pretty much every version before it—you run into that one-in-a-thousand scenario where things just "go wrong" for absolutely no reason. Why should Windows 8 be any different?

You got some kind of USB hub plugged in or something? Like some cheap off-brand stuff from Amazon?
