Hey there,

So, I wanted to share a photo of my setup, which I actually picked up about seven or eight years ago now. Lately, things have been getting a bit wonky because the whole system keeps resetting itself—just shutting down completely out of nowhere—so about a week ago, I decided to go ahead and buy an entirely new motherboard (which is identical to the one I had before), grabbed a new hard drive, and made sure to fresh up the CPU with some new thermal paste. Even after all that work, though, the computer is still doing that annoying thing where it just resets on its own. My gut feeling is that it might be an overheating issue, which is interesting because it seems to happen almost every single time I open up this one specific game in my browser that runs on Flash, and I can't even stay in the game for more than a few minutes before the whole thing crashes. Do you think it's possible the graphics card is the culprit here? If I were to swap out the GPU for a new one, do you think everything would finally start running smoothly again?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I can't see the picture you attached,

Regarding the issue you're having—it could be anything from CPU overheating due to a poorly seated cooler, to dust buildup inside the power supply. Or, honestly, if this rig is as old as you say—around 7 or 8 years—the PSU might just be giving up the ghost. It could also be the GPU or even the RAM... It’s tough to guess blindly like this, though; you really need to test each component one by one to be sure.

To start things off, maybe check your temperatures using Core Temp? You might also want to run a MemTest to scan the RAM for any errors.

The power supply died right out of the gate... or maybe you're just dealing with a bad flash
