I’m trying to boot up my PC, but I’m getting absolutely nothing. When I flip the power switch on the back of the unit to the "on" position, it kicks over for just a split second before immediately cutting out again. I actually took the power supply unit to a local repair shop to have it looked at, but they told me the PSU is perfectly fine. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks in advance! 🙂

Hmm, did you happen to bend any of the 20/24 pins on the motherboard—or maybe those 4/8 pin connectors near the CPU?

That isn't really the issue here, because the computer was running perfectly fine until it just shut down, and now it won't turn back on at all.
The technician I took it to says it's probably not the power supply, especially since I've already had to replace the PSU once before.
It seems like something else has failed, but I'm honestly at a loss as to what it could be.

Something’s fried, which is why it won't power up. Honestly, you just have to troubleshoot it by process of elimination...
If you don't have any spare parts on hand to swap out and test, just take it to a repair shop.

I mean, honestly—what kind of mechanic is that, leaving half the job unfinished? 🤷
If they were actually on the clock, shouldn't they have been able to pinpoint the actual issue in the first place?

Nothing much, just pulled the motherboard out of the case. I'm gonna try to boot it on my desk with the bare minimum setup, I guess.
