Penguin Random House

We constantly get this mail from Penguin Random House acting like, "Buy this and that to enter our annual awards gala," blah blah blah... I know it’s all just a gimmick to get us to spend money, but now they’re claiming if you order a specific CD set by $100, you get a guaranteed gift worth about $1,200??? It feels a bit sketchy to me, though I guess they can't legally print total nonsense in their promos. So, I have a question—what's the catch here? 😕🤷

edit: I realized, after looking closer at the details (they did a pretty clever job with the wordplay 🤣), that this was actually coming out of the $2667 fund. That’s why it felt a bit off to me. Anyway, it's all sorted now.
