I am kindly requesting that the administration urgently move my closed Reddit thread —which is absolutely vital for this community—from the FBI PDF over to the The world around us PDF. Additionally, during this process, please unlock the thread and delete the posts from the last three pages.

In an ideal world, I’d prefer if this thread had never existed—if there were no potential for discussion on this topic at all. Unfortunately, reality is much longer. And much uglier.

Sure, humans have an impact, but if you look at carbon isotopes and average global temperatures, this ice age is running late—by a few centuries, at least.

Enjoy the summers while they last, because the next generations are going to be freezing year-round. Extinction? That’s also happened plenty of times in Earth's history, and there isn't much you can do about that either.

It seems pretty logical to look at temperature shifts over the last 150-200 years when the Earth is billions of years old. I’d suggest showing some intellectual curiosity regarding the other side of the argument. Truth usually sits somewhere in the middle. 🙂

Sure, I agree humans have played a part, but who can actually put a percentage on it? Or even estimate how many years we're pushing back an ice age? For all we know, how much has human activity actually slowed down the Gulf Stream?

I didn't say I provided a relevant source 🤦 Google pulled it up instantly. I don't feel like digging through scientific literature at my age. Did enough of that back in college..
