You’ve got 17 posts in the subforums that actually count towards your stats, plus another 30 over on Reddit—where nobody even tracks the post count anyway...

So, I think I’ve finally hit the same wall everyone else is hitting—just realized it myself. Get this: yesterday I was sitting pretty with 300 posts, right? Today I hop back onto Reddit, drop two more quick comments, glance at my post count, and suddenly I’m down to 287. Like, excuse me? wtf😕🤷 Seriously though, can someone from the mod team please explain what the hell is going on here? Any insight would be appreciated.

It’s entirely possible that a moderator stepped in to clear out some spam or perhaps they just nuked that entire thread you participated in...
I mean, it was likely either a bit too explicit or something along those lines—there’s almost certainly a reason behind it...

As far as I know, there's just the Mad House section under Politics.

Orbis is our system admin, and he’s currently busy fine-tuning the forum. He's got access to all sorts of backend tools that the rest of us admins don't even touch. As part of the site maintenance, he just finished updating the post counters. So, the number you see now is your actual, real-deal post count; I guess some of you might see a pretty huge jump since it hasn't been updated in a while!

Exactly! I guess those crashes and resets just dragged some errors along with them. But hey, everything's been recounted now, so everyone’s actual post count shows up right next to their name.
Just a heads up, though—posts on the Offtopic, Madhouse, and Trash subforums still don't count toward the total. Nothing changed there!

I used to get all worked up about my posts being deleted, thinking it was just because I didn't want to lose my word count. Then it clicked—my old stuff was breaking the rules, mostly just being Offtopic. Now? I couldn't care less if a post gets nuked. If it's gone, it probably deserved it. As for the post counter, if there were a way to hide it, I’d do it in a heartbeat. Aside from the fact that it basically encourages people to spam just to inflate their numbers, it feels totally useless. What's the point of knowing someone's post count? More posts equals more experience? Yeah, right...
