Post count

I'm kind of wondering what the actual point of this is?

Like, are there any actual perks attached to it—opportunities or something else entirely? I get the obvious stuff, you know, like how getting a red flag might come with a -10 penalty or whatever, but I don't really grasp the deeper purpose... I mean, sure, it’s easy to tell if someone is a total newbie because they only have three posts, or if someone is basically living on Reddit 24/7 because their count is sitting at 45k, but beyond just being a number, what's the deal?🤷

Points aren't posts.
Your post count is really just a tally of how much you've written, and I guess it doesn't carry much weight, other than giving you an idea of how active someone is on Reddit. 😉

There's an icon shaped like a scale appearing on my screen. It’s essentially like hitting that upvote button on Reddit to grant someone reputation points—those little green badges you see next to a profile. The more points you hand out, the higher their standing climbs.

If we tried to implement something like that here on Reddit, it would probably trigger an all-out civil war...🙄
