Power Outage

Does anyone "perhaps" happen to know how the process works after the closing bell at 4:00 PM? I am curious about the order processing systems and everything else involved. Is this procedure standardized across all global exchanges, or does every single one operate on its own unique algorithm?
My apologies if "black-out" isn't quite the right term to use here 🙂

In the States, everything runs on continuous trading, so you don't really run into those blackouts.
