Power supply cable issues

So, here is the situation, everyone... I am dealing with a persistent issue regarding my power supply cable, and if anyone possesses any insight into what might be happening, please do leave your thoughts below. It seems that whenever I plug the power cord into my PC, after a certain amount of time passes, the cable simply shifts slightly out of place, causing the machine to lose all power instantly... This has occurred on several occasions now, and while it hasn't caused any permanent damage to the hardware yet, I am well aware that such sudden drops in power can be quite hazardous to the internal components. I have attempted to wedge something underneath the cord to stabilize it, but the slightest movement of the computer case itself causes the cable to dislodge, leaving me without electricity once again. I find myself wondering why a cable would shift at all if it has been properly seated into the power supply unit, and furthermore, I am curious if there exists any viable method to prevent this movement entirely...

Laptop or desktop? Are you positive it's the cable? Maybe try swapping it out for another one first.

Maybe try using a different one just to start with; if it turns out it isn't the cable, then you might need to keep looking elsewhere.

Forgive my sudden reappearance after more than seven months without so much as a word, but I haven't encountered any significant issues with the alternative cable I’ve transitioned to... though, in retrospect, I suspect the fault truly did lie with the original cord itself, as those minor glitches only surfaced once or twice before vanishing entirely, even with the new setup, which was likely just due to the PC tower shifting slightly on the desk or perhaps an accidental tug from my foot while walking through the room... all in all, things are running smoothly for now, but should a more substantial complication arise, I shall be sure to notify you all again.
