Printer help needed!!!

I am currently contemplating the purchase of a new printer, and I suspect my budget will sit somewhere around $250. Does anyone have any particular recommendations they might share?

Furthermore, I would appreciate some guidance on which direction to take regarding brands; if you could outline the respective strengths and weaknesses of the major players—specifically HP, Canon, and Epson—that would be most helpful.

You gotta give us more details.

1. How often are you actually printing?
2. What kind of volume are we talking about?

If the answer to both is >>hardly ever<<, then honestly, it doesn't matter what you grab. You'll end up paying full price for ink/toner anyway.

Does anyone know if there are any compatible third-party cartridges available for the HP LaserJet? Since the chip is built-in and there isn't a reset tool available, I'm worried I'm stuck buying only the official brand-name ones.
