I feel kind of stupid even starting this thread. I mean, *28 Days Later* was decent enough with some solid moments, but the sequel... even the trailer looked like total garbage with that cheap CGI, where people are just sprinting down streets in perfect straight lines 🙂
but seriously, did anyone actually watch it, download it, or just delete it immediately?

The first one was legendary to me... truly unique.

I caught the sequel a couple of days ago—it was just a screener, unfortunately, since a proper DVD rip isn't out yet—and I have to admit, I actually liked it! It might even be better than the original? I really need to watch it again in higher quality to see if everything clicks, but man, it was great!

Alright, cool. I just started the download. Figured I’d get it going while the crew rolls in so we have something to watch while we hang out. The first one was actually pretty decent... hoping this one hits the same way too. 👍

let me know what you guys think

I thought the first movie was actually decent (kind of just a remix of George Romero's trilogy, I guess) until that last third where everything kind of fell apart

and for "28 Weeks Later," there's a lot of buzz out there saying it’s way better than the original

Man, this sucks... it's just bad. 😢

NO SPOILERS

Like, the first one was weirdly good, but this? From start to finish, these damn "zombies" are basically breaking Olympic sprinting records, smashing through walls... they even swim or whatever... 😕

But look, the core of the movie—the characters were great, and that abandoned New York City setting could have been terrible, but with the military everywhere and the plot twists... honestly, it actually holds up okay... if you ignore all those Resident Evil tropes...
But once the chaos kicks off again—it just turns into pure stupidity. You've got these hyperactive zombies smashing through entire front doors, but then they can't seem to break a car window? 🤔

Also, did you guys know the Mercedes-Benz station wagon has chemical weapon protection? Must be an American thing...

A few nonsensical bits could have been skipped, but they kept pushing it until everything went totally south...

Mainly, the whole situation is ridiculous—it's them against everyone, and the lazy writing where out of all of New York City, the zombies only show up right where our heroes are? Like, a soldier escapes fifty zombies only to run straight into our main crew? Of course, if they weren't there, there wouldn't be a movie, but you'd think they could've made it slightly more intelligent.
And thanks a lot, there's one interesting scene that actually outdid Jackson's BRAINDEAD and that lawnmower scene. 😁

And then at the end, naturally—expect 28 Years Later.

What a waste of a movie. 😢

I honestly feel like you might have missed the point of the first part...

Wait, I missed something? Enlighten me.

So we're talking about rabies, not zombies? Because "rabies" usually doesn't involve them turning into Superman just to hunt down living people while 500 other juicy targets hang out nearby...

But honestly, with how poorly this was executed, those kinds of details end up being totally irrelevant anyway... ☕

I mean, let’s be honest—the first one was pretty nonsensical too. You had all that rage and those super-powered zombies? Total trash... but honestly, isn't that exactly what makes the movie so much fun?

the first one was pure trash, sure, but the whole movie was just high-octane... it wasn't just about the zombies
from the way the characters wake up to that insane part with those crazed soldiers 🙏 the movie was just wild... 🙂

but this? this is just garbage trying way too hard to be dramatic with some totally moronic execution... 🤮

so just say what you want to say 🙂

😁 I was thinking about that movie the other day, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the title.
It was an incredible film—really kept me on edge... exactly how a movie should be.

In what specific way is "28 Days Later" trash? I am asking politely: please explain. In detail.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Personally, I think "28 Days Later" is actually 👍 pretty solid, even if things feel a bit dragged out toward the end. I haven't sat down to watch the sequel yet, but I plan to.

In my estimation, 28 Days Later stands as one of the superior entries within the zombie horror genre. As for the sequel, it appears to be more than just promising; it looks truly exceptional.

Honestly, you probably wouldn't have liked the first one either!

Just a quick note... if you actually enjoyed the original, you'll likely dig this one too. For me? I actually found the second installment slightly better because it's much more high-octane and unpredictable!
