Hi everyone!
So, here’s the situation: a family member was discharged from the hospital this past weekend, and their discharge papers explicitly stated they need to take 200mg of Prometheus every night at bedtime. However, due to a total misunderstanding of the instructions—please don't ask me how, it was just one of those things!—it’s actually been five days since they last took it.
I finally managed to pick up the Prometheus today, and we are getting them started on it right away.
My biggest concern right now is: what kind of consequences should we be looking out for? Is there any immediate danger from missing those doses?
I’ve tried calling the hospital ward, but I can't get anyone to pick up the phone, so I'll keep trying later.
Just for some extra context, this person recently underwent brain surgery to repair an aneurysm. They haven't shown any unusual symptoms over the last week, though they have been taking about two or three over-the-counter painkillers whenever they had a headache, but nothing out of the ordinary. Interestingly, everything I read on the medication guide seems focused on epilepsy, which isn't something they deal with at all. If anyone could offer some guidance while I wait to get through to the unit, I would truly appreciate it! 😢
