Please forgive me if a similar thread already exists; I don't wish to clutter the forum by starting a new one, so please feel free to move this wherever you see fit.
Essentially, about a year ago, I developed an ingrown toenail on my big toe. It began quite modestly, almost unnoticeably, but eventually grew into a significant issue that caused me considerable pain. Now that I have finally managed to find the time to visit a medical podiatrist, 😕 the skin simply shed on its own without any intervention whatsoever—much like a dry scab peeling away to reveal fresh skin and a tiny scar underneath. Is such a spontaneous recovery actually possible?
I haven't applied any treatments or ointments to the area. My main concern is whether I should expect this to recur in the future.
