I’m not posting this to appeal the ban itself—frankly, I couldn't care less about the penalty. My issue here is one of principle.
Here’s the deal: I started this thread over on the diaspora forum, specifically under the "chat corner ii" section.
And what did I get? A ban labeled simply as 'trolling,' with zero further explanation provided.
I want to know why this happened, because calling me a troll is a complete fabrication.
Let’s look at the definition: a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion
I wasn't being Off-topic, because this is a dedicated chat thread—which by its very nature means everything posted is on-topic. Plus, I didn't provoke a single soul.
Therefore, using 'trolling' as the justification for my ban is unacceptable. It forces the question: what was the actual reason for the strike? (By the way, she slapped me with another ban using that exact same excuse).
PS Betty Wright64, you seemed to get awfully worked up by the way I wrote about the butterfly. Why is that?
