Razorback (wild boar)

So, there was this one night where I watched this really standout Australian... hm... horror movie called Razorback, or wild boar.

I mean, it basically counts as a horror since it’s hard to put it in any other category, though maybe that doesn't quite fit for me (not that anyone asked me, right? 🙂 )

It was actually one of the first films I ever tried to transcribe by ear, and it honestly messed with my head for two days and two nights—mostly because I couldn't quite wrap my brain around the Australian accent back then. It taught me that you really have to watch the whole thing before you even attempt to translate it. I think that topic came up once over at Studengor 🙂 .

It’s one of those rare movies that doesn't need gallons of blood to work; it just stays creepy and gives you the chills the whole time. It even has a plot based on some true events, though they definitely added a little bit of a fantasy twist to it.
The cinematography and the overall vibe are just so well done (directed by Russell Mulcahy, if I remember correctly).

And man, the music is everything. It was done by Iva Davies, the guy who led that famous Australian band Icehouse. George Lucas once said that the music makes up 50% of the movie experience, and I think this film proves that point perfectly.

Has anyone else seen it? Or did it just fly under your radar?
(If I had known they were airing it, I would have made an announcement. 🙂 )

Sounds interesting since it involves a pig. Must be pretty gross—which I know Emily Martinez68 loves. 😁

The wild boar might let you down... it isn't actually that gross 🙂

I tried watching the movie, but it was way too late so I just drifted off.... maybe it was the exhaustion or something else, but the whole thing felt pretty dull... I saw that massive wild boar pulling the woman out of the car.... and that one guy whose eyes were glowing red, or at least that's how it looked to me.... then right when he showed up from that husband, I was out...

So yeah, that’s my take on the film 😍

The movie was absolute garbage. Utterly pointless and incredibly dull.
