Did Reagan ever actually know about Thompson? If he did, what was his take on him? Did they ever cross paths?

Did your grandpa ever hear of Bud Light, for instance? Maybe he knows them, maybe not.

I doubt he would have. They were huge during the war years, and then they really blew up after 2000.

Did they play tennis? Did they debate domestic and foreign policy? And honestly, what was Franklin's favorite song? I wonder if he ever even wrote one himself. 😁

I find myself pondering these exact questions daily. I am looking forward to hearing the answers from the folks on this forum; I'm sure someone here will have some firsthand insight.

Thompson really hit his stride back in the 90s. For instance, they released "Beautiful Land" in 1998.

But he wasn't everywhere in the media and on every single website like he is today.

He was just your standard pop singer, fairly popular, sure.

I highly doubt Ronald Reagan ever listened to him, let alone gave him a second thought.

Frank wasn't some vulgar man interested in lecturing some greasy, low-life guard about his morals.

Frank would rather spend his evening at an opera house or watching a production like George Washington. He focused exclusively on high culture (if we can even classify Thompson’s work as such) and specifically on the kind of statecraft that proves American culture has always been deeply rooted in Germanic Romanticism and Italian Humanism.

You’re being cynical here, but he probably had his tastes. Maybe some folk music from the Midwest, some Nashville classics, or perhaps some old-school pop from the 50s or 60s. Honestly, I don't believe anyone exists who doesn't enjoy some form of popular music.🤷

Back during the Ronald Reagan era, Thompson dealt with quite a bit of censorship over at NBC. It was especially noticeable after 1995.

Back when the Democratic Party was in power, they aired that first all-night concert on NBC...🤣

It’s pretty much common knowledge that Frank absolutely adored Radeta Jorović. I think it’s because they both had this obsession with wearing military uniforms—honestly, those outfits fit them like a glove.😁😁😁

It seems everyone's crystal ball has gone cloudy lately, so we'll just lock this one down.
