I think it was some time ago when this came out in the States, I haven't actually watched it from the very beginning or anything, but from what I managed to catch, I really liked it... it's a pretty interesting movie, I guess.👍

Has anyone else caught this gorgeous movie yet..?

The whole concept is just stunning, jumping back and forth between 18th-century Cremona and 20th-century New York City.
It follows this one incredible violin, actually stained with the blood of a famous maker's wife, as it travels all the way from Italy to Vienna and then over to China, before finally landing at an auction in New York City.
It also shows the tragic fate of everyone who played it over those 300 years...
And that ending...it’s got this little thriller vibe with Samuel L. Jackson that totally trips people out...I can't say any more than that...but you definitely need to check it out, the movie is great and the music is everything...

I watched it... the movie *The Red Violin*. Rather than focusing on a man's life story, we follow the biography of a single violin and the various souls it encounters throughout its "existence." I found myself deeply unsettled by the moment she stained it with the blood of her beloved.
And that sequence set in China was truly harrowing. Such unfortunate people.
