Requesting a Banhammer

I can't deal with the censorship on this Reddit anymore. Just banhammer my account and, per GDPR, wipe all my private data from your database. Thanks and goodbye.

What kind of censorship are you talking about? There’s no censorship on this Reddit, aside from what's strictly laid out in our rules.

We only issue a Banhammer at a user's request in extreme cases where there's a truly compelling reason. Otherwise, it's pointless—you just stop visiting the site. Honestly, it happens more than you'd think; someone says they need to focus on studying but can't quit the site... Then people start asking us if they're just being dramatic or why we're being so harsh.

Pretty sure under GDPR I have the right to get my data wiped from your database.
As a dev, I always had to build retroactive data deletion into my apps to decouple users from their activity. So, I'm invoking GDPR.

Besides, have some self-respect. If someone doesn't want to be part of the community or show up in your user stats, just delete them.

I'm not looking for an argument. I'll check the fine print with the FTC, but otherwise, whatever.

A Banhammer isn't deletion. If people don't want to participate, they simply stop participating.

Yeah, it's Anderlon here for the first time, but not every time. 🙂 I actually heard it on the news yesterday—the mayor mentioned at a press conference that they're looking for a spokesperson, and I thought, well, we could use one too. 🙂

Every single time I see a thread about deleting my profile because they "don't want to write anymore" I just want to kick someone out of the NBA. Seriously, where's your backbone? If you don't want to post, then just shut up and go.

But how would you actually be able to tell if he’s just decided to stop posting, or if he’s genuinely pissed off?😁
