Hey there!

So, I’ve stumbled upon an opportunity to pick up some Roccat tower headphones for $100, which works out to be roughly $67 less than what you'd find at a retail store. They’re brand new, still in the original packaging, but a buddy of mine is looking to offload them urgently.

That brings me to my question: has anyone here actually spent some quality time with these particular headphones? And more importantly, even with this discount, am I just throwing money away, or would it be smarter to look into other options at this price point instead?

Thanks in advance.

So, is anyone actually going to weigh in on these headphones, or are we all just going to sit here in total silence? 🤷

I personally use Roccat coffee at home—a slightly more rugged model—and I'm very satisfied with them. As for the Roccat tower, all I know is what I've read in various reviews, which suggest they are quite good and lightweight headphones.

If you have the chance to get a brand new pair for that price, don't even think twice; just grab them. It's unlikely you'll find anything better for that amount, though you should definitely check out what Creative Technology has to offer. For instance, I'm personally a fan of Creative Labs Fatal1ty.

From what I can gather by looking at the reviews, they aren't exactly winning any beauty contests—especially considering the price tag—and people are complaining that they feel pretty stiff and uncomfortable. Honestly, don't go picking them up unless you actually get to try them on first. If you're looking to spend around $100, you'd probably be better off grabbing some SteelSeries Siberia or maybe the Creative Tatics 3D Alpha instead.

Yeah, let’s just say they didn't exactly win any awards based on this review. Mind you, I've seen a few people out there giving them much better marks, but I find myself agreeing with the consensus here—it probably would have been wise to actually test them out first. At the end of the day, everyone seems to be hitting on the same point, which is that leather ear pad part? It's just not particularly comfortable.

As for those Fatal1ty models, I've heard through the grapevine that the audio quality isn't exactly top-tier, and since sound is pretty much my number one priority, I think I'll go ahead and cross them off my list right now. Though, I have to admit, the whole detachable microphone setup is a pretty clever little feature.

Now, the Siberia ones? Those are fantastic, truly, but man, are they a pain to track down. Honestly, unless you happen to stumble upon them at a local Best Buy, your only real move is to order them online and just pray they aren't a disappointment.

I could potentially let you have my Siberia v2 for $117 if you’re interested—just let me know!
It still comes with the full warranty and everything else included.

I appreciate the offer, I really do, but I think I’m going to stick with getting a fresh pair of mice. If the Roccat tower doesn't quite hit the mark for me, I’ll probably just end up pulling the trigger on the Creative Tatics 3D Alpha instead; I’ve been doing a bit of digging lately, and honestly, they seem like a pretty solid bet.

@Benjamin King2/">@@Benjamin King2, thanks for the solid advice.👍

If you actually care about the music—and I mean *really* care—then stop looking at gaming headsets and go hit up an audio shop to check out some Sennheiser gear. Seriously, once you try them, you'll realize how much of a different universe they inhabit compared to those gamer cans.

I’m on the hunt for something a bit more universal, I suppose... though we all know how much "universal" can actually mean in this context, don't we?

So, I finally pulled the trigger and picked up Creative Tactics 3D Alpha. After all that deliberation, I can honestly say I’m incredibly pleased with the results, and frankly, I’d recommend them to just about anyone looking to make the leap. 🙂
