Hi there!

I have a tumor surgery coming up soon, so I wanted to reach out and see if anyone here has gone through something similar with a salivary gland tumor. What kind of complications should I be looking out for? Specifically, I'm thinking about facial nerve damage, general anesthesia, and things like that.

Just wanted to jump in and share my experience...
The surgery went smoothly and they managed to get the tumor out. I have to say, though, I was totally caught off guard by the stitches—I ended up with about a 34-stitch incision, which felt way more intense than I anticipated! I actually ran into a few other people at the clinic dealing with the exact same issue, which honestly made me feel a little less alone in all of this. Thankfully, I didn't have any issues waking up from the anesthesia. They sent me home after four days, and it took about two weeks to really feel like myself again. Moving around was pretty tough at first because those stitches were pulling so much whenever I tried to turn my head.
If I could give one piece of advice to everyone: if you notice a painless lump on your neck, right under your jawline, please go see a doctor immediately... It personally took me five whole years to work up the nerve to finally get checked out!

This is such a great topic to bring up..
I actually went through this myself. I say "went through" because I ended up seeing my doctor once it started getting uncomfortable whenever I was trying to eat..
They ran some blood work and everything came back totally normal... It turned out it was just an enlarged gland. No tumors or anything scary like that..
My doctor mentioned that if I really wanted to be extra cautious, I could go in for some follow-up scans, but honestly, I just didn't bother going
And now? It’s completely gone...
I don't even have a clue how it showed up in the first place..
